Visit the Gateway to Africa; Ancient Morocco

Jun 18, 2020 | World Travel

Known as the gateway to Africa, Morocco is a country with epic mountain ranges and sweeping deserts oases. From the Saharan dunes to the peaks of the High Atlas and Rif mountains there is much to see. Star filled night skies glisten in the thin air. Rugged coastlines, waterfalls and caves in forested hills offer breathtaking scenery. The ancient cities of Morocco are some of the most exciting in the world. Ait Benhaddou is a UNESCO-protected ksar that seems frozen in time. It has been made famous by movies such as “Jewel of the Nile” and “Lawrence of Arabia.” Trails from the winding medina maze of Fez to Marrakesh are still travelled by nomads and traders. However, cities such as Casablanca and Tangier are looking to the future with new urban designs and forward thinking technologies.
